The lab

MyOfficeLab is a four-node Proxmox VE cluster running on HP EliteDesk 705 G4 mini PCs — each an AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 2400G with CPU-only inference. No dedicated GPUs, no cloud dependencies: just commodity hardware doing real work.

The cluster hosts a 3-node Ollama inference farm (Qwen2.5-Coder 14B, Llama 3.2), an AI agent (Hermes) with RouteLLM fallback chains, a Grafana+Prometheus monitoring stack, a Minecraft server, Wiki.js documentation, and a Flutter desktop+iOS app as the control panel.

Everything is documented honestly — including the things that broke, the wrong turns, and the gotchas that cost hours. If you're building something similar, these posts are the runbook I wish I had.

The writing

I write about infrastructure topics I've actually deployed and operated. No sponsored reviews of services I haven't used, no regurgitated tutorials — just field notes from a working system.

Posts cover Proxmox clustering, LXC container management, CPU-only AI inference, Grafana dashboards, Tailscale networking, automation with AI agents, and Flutter app development.

About me

I'm Josh Hall, based in Springdale, AR. I build homelab infrastructure as a serious hobby and occasionally as a consulting practice for small businesses exploring self-hosted AI.

The lab is my office: the name is intentional. Everything here is production-grade for personal use — monitored, backed up, and maintained.
